Markaz Rif Dimashq (Arabic: مركز ريف دمشق Markaz Rif Dimašq) is a Syrian district (mantiqah) administratively belonging to Rif Dimashq governorate. It is a group of municipalities around the City of Damascus (a separate governorate). At the 2004 Census it had a population of 902,216. It surrounds (but does not include) the City of Damascus.
